Match & Wed ("we", "our", or "us"), which operates Mali Sagai, is a matrimonial platform designed to help members of the Mali community discover and connect with suitable marriage prospects.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use the Mali Sagai mobile application and related services, including the optional Match & Wed connection in ChatGPT.

When you register for Mali Sagai, we may collect:

So that every profile on Mali Sagai belongs to a real person, we ask you to submit a photograph of a government-issued identity document when your profile is reviewed. You may take the photograph with your camera or choose an existing image from your device.

The document is stored privately. It is never shown to other members, never published, and never made publicly accessible. It is seen only by an administrator reviewing your profile.

The image is deleted as soon as that review decision is made, whether your profile is accepted or rejected. We keep only the outcome of the review — accepted or rejected, and the reason if it was rejected. We do not keep the document, the identity number printed on it, or any copy of the image.

A scheduled backstop also removes retained identity-document images once they are older than 24 hours, on the next hourly cleanup run. Failed removals are retried; this is not a promise of erasure at an exact second.

Profiles created for women are not asked for an identity document.

If you tap “Near me” in the feed, Mali Sagai asks your permission to read your device’s approximate location. We use it once, at that moment, to work out which city or district you are in so we can show you rishtey nearby.

Rishta Aunty can hold a conversation with you so she can understand what you are looking for. There are two ways to take part — Voice mode and Chat mode — and they are two interfaces to the same conversation.

Voice conversations: When you choose to speak to Rishta Aunty, Mali Sagai uses your device’s speech-recognition service to convert your speech into text. The resulting text is sent to Mali Sagai’s Human Understanding service so Aunty can respond. Mali Sagai does not itself record, upload, or store your microphone audio as an audio file. Depending on your device and speech-recognition provider settings, the speech-recognition service may process your voice data according to that provider’s own privacy practices.

Text conversations: When you use chat mode, the messages you type are sent to Mali Sagai’s Human Understanding service to generate Aunty’s response. The conversation is associated with your Mali Sagai account and handled according to Mali Sagai’s privacy policy and retention rules.

To understand what you tell her and to write her replies, Mali Sagai sends the messages in your Rishta Aunty conversation to an artificial-intelligence provider, Anthropic, which processes them on our behalf and returns a result. Anthropic is our processor for this and is not permitted to use your conversation for its own purposes.

From that conversation, Mali Sagai builds and stores a private record of what Aunty understands about you — for example that you would prefer to live independently after marriage, or that you have not decided about children yet. Each entry in that record is stored together with the exact words of yours that it came from, so that every part of it can be traced back to something you actually said.

These providers process information for service operation, security, storage, authentication, hosting, notifications, and infrastructure purposes. Their processing is governed by the applicable service agreements and privacy notices; OpenAI also processes your use of ChatGPT under its own terms and settings.

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users and the platform.

Access is currently restricted to an internal test cohort. Connecting is optional. Existing Mali Sagai members approve a fresh, short-lived request inside their authenticated app; a QR code or link alone cannot authorize access. Phone verification is used for new-user self-verification and account recovery, not as an additional proof for existing-account linking.

When you use the connection, OpenAI sends the tool request and its arguments to our gateway. We return the permitted result to ChatGPT: your own limited profile and preferences, masked eligible match cards and explanations, or activity counts and action status. Your conversation may include personal information you choose to share. Phone verification codes and account-possession approval are handled only on our first-party website or authenticated app, not through ChatGPT tools. Do not put passwords, identity documents or verification codes in chat.

Candidate phone numbers, email addresses, WhatsApp details, photographs, storage paths and internal account identifiers are not exposed through this connection. Limited candidate information, such as masked name, age, location, education and profession, can be returned where profile visibility, community, eligibility and safety rules permit. An eligible discoverable member need not connect their own ChatGPT account to appear in these limited results.

Matchmaking can involve community, religion and family preferences you provide. Use only information you are entitled to provide. The connection does not grant broader access than the server permits. Relationship actions depend on your request, permissions and current feature availability; additional confirmation is required where the action provides a preview. External web checkout is currently disabled.

OpenAI handles your ChatGPT conversation and returned tool results under its own terms, privacy policy and your ChatGPT settings. It is not described here as processing only on our instructions. Our gateway processes authorization/session records, bounded tool arguments, results, operational metadata and security audit records. The integration encrypts contacts stored in its separate Contact Vault using managed key protection; the Agent Gateway cannot read or decrypt candidate contacts.

You can revoke the connection or disconnect assistants from our first-party recovery page. Revocation stops future authenticated access but does not delete your Mali Sagai account, erase earlier relationship actions, or remove conversations already held by OpenAI. Manage ChatGPT history and privacy settings separately. Recovery shows counts and connected assistants, not candidate identities or message contents.

We retain profile information while the account is active. Connection credentials and challenges expire or are revoked according to their purpose; expiry makes them unusable but does not itself erase stored records. Security, consent, action and payment records may remain after disconnect for safety, disputes and legal obligations. A complete retention schedule for these integration records is under review before public release; contact us for access, correction or deletion requests.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information.

While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You may request deletion of your account from within the application, under Profile, or by writing to us at the address at the end of this policy.

Your profile is hidden from other members immediately when you make the request. A 30-day grace period is scheduled before permanent deletion processing. Signing back into the app through OTP during that period cancels a pending request. If deletion is delayed or you need assistance, contact us; the grace period is not a guarantee that every retained record has already been erased.

Deletion removes the active account and associated data, subject to the records and recovery safeguards below. We retain a record of authorization and completion so partial failures can be detected:

These records are held only for the purposes described above. They are not shown to other members, are not used for matchmaking, and are not used to contact you.

Reports and blocks involving your account are deleted along with your account. Only the anonymous count described above remains.

The scheduled event-retention process removes eligible usage events after 90 days; this is not a 90-day limit for every security, consent, payment or deletion record. An identity verification document is deleted as soon as your profile review is decided. Information that is no longer required is deleted or anonymized where appropriate.

Mali Sagai is intended only for adults who are legally eligible to marry under applicable laws.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we become aware that information has been collected from a child, we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
